Soft Frosting

A cooked-flour (ermine-style) frosting made by thickening milk with Wondra flour, then beating it into creamed butter, Crisco, and sugar with vanilla until light like whipped cream.
Directions
- Put cup of milk in pan over low heat, add wondra flour stirring until sauce thickens. Set aside to cool.
- Cream butter, crisco an sugar. Blend well. Add milk mixture,beat until well mixed. Add vanilla. Continue beating until like whipped cream.
- Refrigerate until needed.
- Put the cup of milk in a pan over low heat, add the Wondra flour, and stir until the sauce thickens. Set aside to cool.
- Cream the butter, Crisco, and sugar; blend well.
- Add the cooled milk mixture and beat until well mixed.
- Add the vanilla and continue beating until it is like whipped cream.
- Refrigerate until needed.
