Soft Frosting

A cooked-flour (ermine-style) frosting made by thickening milk with Wondra flour, then beating it into creamed butter, Crisco, and sugar with vanilla until light like whipped cream.

Directions

  1. Put cup of milk in pan over low heat, add wondra flour stirring until sauce thickens. Set aside to cool.
  2. Cream butter, crisco an sugar. Blend well. Add milk mixture,beat until well mixed. Add vanilla. Continue beating until like whipped cream.
  3. Refrigerate until needed.
