Individual Meat Loaves

Individual meat loaves made from lean ground beef and ground pork sausage bound with bread cubes, egg, and milk, then topped with chili sauce and baked.

Directions

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients; set aside. Remove crusts from bread; cut bread into cubes. Combine bread cubes, eggs and milk in mixing bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in meat mixture, and shape into 6 individual loaves; roll each in bread crumbs. Place in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread chili sauce over loaves. Pour boiling water into dish. Bake, uncovered a 350 degrees for 1 hour. Transfer loaves to a serving platter; garnish if desired. Yield; 6 servings.

  2. Remove the crusts from the 5 slices of white bread; cut the bread into cubes.
  3. Combine the bread cubes, eggs, and milk in a mixing bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
  4. Stir in the meat mixture, and shape into 6 individual loaves; roll each in the soft breadcrumbs.
  5. Place the loaves in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread the chili sauce over the loaves.
  6. Pour the boiling water into the pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  7. Transfer the loaves to a serving platter; garnish if desired. Yield: 6 servings.
