Chocolate Upside Down Cake

A quick chocolate upside-down cake that starts with a fudge cake mix poured over a boiled corn syrup, brown sugar, and pecan topping layered with chocolate tid bits, baked in a 9x9 pan.
Directions
- In a saucepan combine syrup and sugar, margarine and salt. Bring to a boil stirring until butter is melted. Stir in nuts. Pour into 9 x 9 in pan.
- Mix cake mix as directed. Sprinkle tid bits over mixture in pan. Pour batter over tid bits. Bake 35-40 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the dark corn syrup, light brown sugar, butter (or margarine), and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring, until the butter is melted.
- Stir in the pecans. Pour into a 9 x 9-inch pan.
- Mix the fudge cake mix as directed on the package (using the egg).
- Sprinkle the Chocolate Tid Bits over the syrup mixture in the pan. Pour the cake batter over the tid bits.
- Bake 35-40 minutes (temperature not given).
- Serve with whipped cream.
